Letter from the Chairman For as long as I can remember, I have wished my nation to progress to the same level as the most advanced nations of the world.
Despite the most incredible changes that have taken place throughout the world and within my country I believe the past is most meaningful to us for it shows us which path to take for the future.
Commerce is a diverse challenging pursuit which requires a different and creative approach to overcome the problems one encounters. Now, as in the past, it is a matter of considerable importance to ascertain with correctness what are the fundamental ingredients needed to succeed.
Whilst fierce competition in the global lubricants market makes such a task increasingly difficult, I look confidently to the future, assured by the capabilities that are available within AMCO. With the vision and enthusiasm, which has brought us this far, I can see more exciting times ahead.
Our customers are our most important asset so I believe that it is our responsibility to ensure that we always meet the high standards which they set. With this as our philosophy AMCO has withstood the test of time.
Khalfan Mubarak Al Huwairib Chairman
A Brief Company History AMCO was founded in 1963 as a General Trading and Contracting Company. Amongst AMCO's original activities was the import and distribution of lubricants.
Over the years as AMCO grew and became more involved in the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.) market, lubricant products increased in importance and developed into the company's main business interest. Success in this area brought about a decision to specialize in lubricants in 1970.
Five years from that date AMCO established a relationship with a Dutch based lubricant blending company enabling the marketing of its own brand products. Successful business development of these led, in 1980, to AMCO purchasing a major shareholding in the Dutch plant. AMCO's manufacturing base was then consolidated.
With the opening of the Jebel Ali Free Zone, AMCO took the opportunity to begin construction of a new, state of the art, U.A.E. based blending plant. This provided the ability to implement a global strategy for the marketing of AMCO products.
In August 1988 production began. Finally equipped to manufacture lubricants meeting worldwide exacting standards and specifications, output of the plant and sales continue to grow beyond expectations.
AMCO Bases it's future on three important factors: Quality. Services, and Competitive Pricing Quality is assured by using only the best materials. All deliveries to the blending plant are batch tested in our own laboratories. Each stage of production is closely monitored to maintain the high standards demanded b our customers.
Our policy on pricing is simple….. "Quality shall not be sacrificed to make cheaper products." We achieve cost effective savings by improving the manufacturing process utilising the most advanced technology and machinery. The benefit is the special service that we provide. All orders received are dealt with promptly and efficiently. Delivery to our customer is always within the shortest possible time.
"HIGH QUALITY AT A PRICE THAT PLEASES" Petroleum lubricants are predominantly hydrocarbons that are refined from crude petroleum by various methods, including distillation.
Solid lubricants include inorganic compounds such as graphite, molybdenum disulfide, and organic compounds such as metallic soaps and animal waxes.
Synthetic lubricants are also now available to meet the more demanding requirements of modern machinery. Our high quality products use polymer films and silicons.
